It has been a strange week with the second tier provider pricing. (Virgin, Koodo, fido)
Lots of changes back and forth since Monday.
Looks like they did not get a chance to have their usual collusion meeting on pricing.
The $39/20GB plan is still around even though it was supposed to expire Monday.
For those looking for more data, this appears to be the best BYOD pricing at the moment.
Koodo is at $50 with no discount for now.
fido is at $55 with their bullshit forced autopay discount bringing the price to the market rate of $50. (Update) they just added the $5 / 24mo. discount so now $45.
If you have a friend on Virgin, don’t forget to ask for a referral. DO NOT ask for referrals here as per RFD rules.
* I wouldn’t lock in to any plans right now by getting a device. Looks like this year we may see some increased competition and possibly some good Black Friday pricing.
If a better deal comes along you can always switch carriers while on BYOD.
