This is the closest to the pre-pandemic price ($2200). I have this receiver and it is quite high-end with all the current bells and whistles. This one is the one to buy in the SR series: much better than the cheaper SR5015 and has just few features less than the more expensive SR7015. The SR8015 is the flagship and very expensive.
It is still expensive for some people, but if you have the dough and are looking, go for it. The Marantz sound is pleasing to a lot of people, so this is not going to “surprise” anyone.
