I bought a Paudin on sale from Amazon for $30 (1/2 price or so) because I was tired of the main knife from my “good set” that was SS and forever dull. I use this to complement my SS cheap henkle set that has a decent bread knife, scissors and a block. The other knives in it are fairly useless.
My knife is not exactly the same but very similar price and style wise.
I have used it for 2+ years and it is still very sharp, I never sharpened it once, it is light and handles very well.
Pros: high carbon steel will keep its edge.
Cons: high carbon steel isn’t stainless, it will pit if not wiped down and I do so immediately after every use if it is going to sit for more than a minute. Worth it.
They go on sale at least twice a year so if you miss this then there will be another. Check the other styles as well.
