Tineco’s cordless floor washer (similar to Bissell Crosswave, but better reviewed from what I’ve read/watched). The non-Ultra S5 was $450 or $480 at Amazon/Best Buy during Black Friday, and if the S3 Ultra was any indication, the Ultra version from Cdn Tire should come with an additional roller and filter (on top of the spare that’s typically included – so 3 rollers and 3 filters). For additional reference, the S3 Ultra was $350 at Cdn Tire and S3 (regular) was $380 at Amazon/Best Buy.

Probably not for everyone, and I don’t think it’s the game-changing device it’s marketed as. I’ve had the S3 for two weeks or so, and I find it a better experience than manual mopping. However, best to keep your expectations tempered:
  • Don’t just rely on the self-cleaning function, it’s not a magic bullet – for smaller jobs it might do the trick, but you’ll still likely have to take out the roller brush, clean off stuck hairs or wet dust clumps, and clean out the channels. Takes me about 10 mins to clean everything thoroughly, which you then have to let dry for a least a day (probably more for the roller brush).
  • The clean and dirty water tanks (CWT/DWT) are pretty small; I had to refill the CWT a least once to finish one floor and had to dump out the DWT once as well (including cleaning out any accumulated gunk). The tanks on the S5 should be bigger than the S3 though.
  • If you have pets or don’t vacuum regularly, it’s probably best to dry vacuum first (so this might not save you that much time). Otherwise you’ll find the dirty water tank (DWT) getting clogged up before you finish the whole floor, which you’ll then have to clean it out before continuing. If it’s really been a while since your last vacuum, you’ll probably have to do this multiple times just to finish one floor, which makes it a similar hassle to regular mopping.
  • Edge cleaning isn’t great on the S3, it leaves a bit of a gap on either end; however, the S5 improves on this – the right edge of the S5 roller should almost be flush to any wall.

The S3/S5 were the best hard floor cleaners reviewed by Vacuum Wars in 2022:
