Hello
Be gentle on me pls… wondering if this deal is ok and if other parents looking for simple computers for their kids online schooling, hopefully this helps.
I saw there was old Lenovo m90n thread that seemed to get a lot of positive feedback, and this deal looked somewhat similar in magnitude and when I compared to all the other basic computers I could see at online stores (not wanting refurb), this seemed like a good deal even if it’s 8th Gen i5.
● Processor: 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i5-8265U Processor (1.60 GHz, up to 3.90 GHz with Turbo Boost, 4 Cores, 8 Threads, 6 MB Cache)
● Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64
● Memory: 8 GB DDR4 2666MHz (Soldered)
● Hard Drive: 256 GB PCIe SSD
● Warranty: 3 Year On-site
● Graphics: Integrated Intel® UHD Graphics
● Keyboard: Wireless – US English
● Pointing Device: Wireless Mouse
● WiFi Wireless LAN Adapters: Intel® 9560 802.11AC (2 x 2) & Bluetooth® 5.0
Also includes 3 yrs support for those that might benefit from that.
I thought it had a good assortment of ports with USB C and 3 and Displayport for video and RJ45 for hardwired internet. So I can’t see much missing (this is not meant for gaming just kids school!)
Rakuten has 10% off too, so I don’t think I can get too much better, so i pulled the trigger… upgraded to “premier” support for $36 since it was so cheap…not sure if worth it or not but it was only $36 for three years… what the heck..
I tried using the id.me discount Lenovo site gives for teachers/first responders etc but it ended up giving only $3 off. I read somewhere that the discount doesn’t apply to door crashers so maybe this deal counts as one of those…
