Some discussion about this deal exists in the 0.99% mortgage topic, but I figured this might be of interest to folks that aren’t looking for a mortgage as well.
You can get a varying welcome offer reward amount depending on the type of account you open with HSBC, provided that you deposit a minimum amount within 30 days and hold that amount for three months:
$50 for Youth Savings and Student Chequing accounts ($1000 deposited)
$200 for Advance ($5000 deposited)
$300 for Premier ($25000 deposited)
You can also get:
$50 for opening the account online (excluding Youth Savings)
$100 for setting up recurring payroll within 6 months
$50 for setting up two recurring Pre-Authorized Debits within 3 months
$50 for doing two online bill payments within 3 months
$50 for sending two foreign exchange wire transfers or global transfers within 6 months
