Title is self explanatory. Miter box + miter saw for all your mitering needs. At $7.27 for the box + saw, seems like a good buy.

Great miter saw especially at this price!

The hardest thing about using this item was unpacking it. (use pliers to pull out the mounting pin, do not pry it out by lifting the saw blade.. *duh*)

I read a couple reviews and saw the negative comments so I will also touch on those.
1 this is a mitre saw, not a hand saw, hence the weighted bar on the back. Let the saw do all the work. All you have to do is move it ——> <—– do NOT angle the saw blade keep it level. If you are seeing plastic powder, you are not keeping the blade level, be more careful.

2 This saw does exactly what it is supposed to do. Clean finish cuts at specific angles. If the cut isn’t clean it is your fault, adjust your method. Be more precise when flipping your work to make sure you are on the same cut. —– —– not —– _____ (have to use imagination, the lines represent your cut)

3 IT IS MASTERCRAFT… LIFETIME warranty!!!

The first review I read that the saw was bowing… the reviewer was trying to use it as a hand saw, not letting the miter saw do the work. Think of driving your car with the emergency break on… you gonna snap a cable, right? Saw teeth are the brake, saw blade is the cable.

4 you CAN screw this down to a work bench, but if you are doing everything right, you can just clamp in your wood and hold the miter box with your free hand… You do not need a lot of force to cut, let the weight on the blade to the work.

I can imagine a lot of carpenters reading this and saying “Well DUH!!!” but this isn’t so much for them, they have the power miter saws costing $300 and up. This is for Joe average who might know how to saw but has not used a miter saw.

5 cut accuracy totally depends on your accuracy. Measure twice, cut once. You shouldn’t need more than a light sanding on the ends to finish the cut with a nice clean flat surface. I am using this to turn a busted box spring into a spice rack. Waste not want not.
