Noticed this is on sale and picked one up. The unit is pretty solid but the latch is ok. Keep a bungee cord around when the latch goes or add your own latches later if the main one goes.

This lunch box will reach 300F in about 5-20 mins allowing you to warm and if you want to slowly cook, or bake while on long road trips, off grid/van/camp, or if you drive a lot like while doing deliveries.

Comes with an inline easy to replace 15A fuse car fuse and the instructions says it draws a max 13.5A and uses an average of 5.27A.

I did some measurements to help everyone out if they want to find a pan or liner to make cleanups easier as the inside pieces don’t come out.

The inner cooking area measurements are:

9” x 5” x 4”

9” max <——-> (8.5” safe)
5” max (4.75” safe)
4” max tall (each half is 2”)

It does fit a 540ml soup can if one was wanting to heat soup up.

They give some approx cook times:

10min hotdogs
30min soup
40min rice

There is one setting so if you want to speed up or even out the cooking or baking you can add some water to the bottom of the box and let the steam do it’s work. Only the bottom heats up.

I checked Amazon and NordicWare and some other companies have bakeware in the 8.5” x 4” sizing.

Princess Auto has 12v lunch box cooker as well but from the review from a long haul driver it is more narrow. Sure you get Princess Autos great return policy but I think this size works out better as more wider surface area. I believe some people compared it to the RoadPro 12v lunch box as they both go up to 300F.

Interesting rice trick to keep stuff from sticking. If you don’t want to eat the rice you can toss it.
