First post here. I was on the Fibe 500 plan last year and my promotion of $40/mo credit is expiring at the end of the month.

I tried both Rogers and Bell and the best deal that I could get to sign up as a new customer was $79.95 for a 500 download package. Both will require some type of activation fee, ~$30-60.

I called Bell Retention service at 1-866-310-2355. I told them I want to cancel and the agent was able to offer me 3 recommendations:
1. Fibe 500 for $69.95/mo, $40/mo credit lasts 12 months
2. Fibe Gigabit for $79.95/mo, $40/mo credit lasts 12 months
3. Fibe Gigabit + Fibe TV for $79.95/mo, $45/mo internet credit that lasts indefinitely and $25/mo TV credit that lasts 12 months

All those options have no further activation fees.

I’m in the GTA area and I’m also moving at the end of month, when my old credit expires. I don’t even watch TV but figured maybe I will get a TV in the next year. So I chose option 3. I think it also might help me when I renegotiate next year.

This offer might only be available if you are moving, so YMMV.
