As a fan of JRPG’s and Harvest Moon Rune Factory 4 provides the best of both worlds. Although relatively simplistic (At the end of the day it is a farming sim) the combat is varied enough that you can continue to do new and cool things throughout the game. Hundreds of recipes to discover and make. Level up everything you do, running, sleeping, fishing, bathing, everything you do contributes to some of your stats. Super fun, highly recommend. Plus dating stuff, the ability to sell your own goods to tourists and people of the town.
