Amazon product: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 8-Core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Wraith Prism LED Cooler
Currently I own both a 3700x and a 3800x. I have owned the 3700x since ryzen 3000 released, as it was all that was available at the time, and I had no interest in the 3900x for my uses. | I decided to switch to a 3800x as my 3700x was not a particularly good example and required fairly high voltage for a good all core overclock. | The 3800x is the complete opposite. I am able to hold much higher all core on much lower voltage, leading to low temperatures, as well as hold a 1900Mhz infinity fabric clock. | Prior to ryzen 3000, I had a 9900k. I would 100% recommend 3000 over the 9900k. Much more power efficient (my 9900k at 5Ghz all core consumed over 200w) and performance at high resolution (1440p) gaming is identical. Yeah, maybe if you’re playing at low res low quality the 9900k might be better… But why would you ever do this? It’s 2019… Not 1998. My eyes can’t handle that garbage anymore. | And in terms of productivity tasks… There just isn’t a comparison. Ryzen 3000 is far superior. | I would 100% recommend the 3800x at its current reduced price, it’s worth the $30 premium over a 3700x.
