Master 1 vs Master 2S: The Master 2 has an “improved” sensor, with a maximum of 4000 CPI over the 1000 CPI the original Master offered (useful if you’re working across multiple screens or 4K displays), and the battery life was increased. The Master 2S also included Logitech Flow, which allows the same mouse to work between several different computers on the same network, to the point of being able to copy and paste stuff between them. The Master 2 also has a different colour scheme, but the two mice are pretty similar in all other aspects.
Master 2S vs Master 3: The Master 3 retains the side scroll wheel, but switched the side button design back to a more traditional forwards/back layout. The scroll wheel now uses magnets for the tensioning system, and the faster you scroll the more they demagnetize, loosening the Infinite Scroll wheel and pretty much negating the need for a dedicated button toggle (although it’s still there). The Master 3 also has a feature where it autodetects some of the more popular productivity programs and switches up what the side buttons do – for example, in a web browser the side buttons would be forwards/back, whereas in a word processor they might be undo/redo. The design language has changed to be more in line with newer products like the MX Vertical.

There isn’t a better deal on a mouse right now. You cannot go wrong with this mouse. If you are looking at the MX3 but want to save some money this is the way to go. It’s just as good. | For gaming, this mouse is pretty good. A few more buttons would be ideal if you plan on using this as a dedicated gaming mouse but it does the job better than most mice for a casual gamer.
