This is a simple thermometer for bbqing. Quick readings in C or F. The unit turns on when you open up the probe and turns off when you retract it. similar to a switchblade. The back has a magnet which is great to stick to your bbq when not in use — i recommend putting it on a NOT-HOT spot on your bbq. Also behind the thermometer you can see that there is a small reference where various temperature for different meats are shown ( just a really quick reminder ) | if you forget to turn it off, you are ok because it has auto off to prevent from draining that expensive coincell battery. | a decent inexpensive product that works well enough to help you gauge your meats.
