Even though my existing lock did not match any of the types described in the installation materials, installation on my existing lock was straightforward and only took a total of about 30 minutes. | At first the lock would not lock despite calibrating it several times. I finally realized that the very thick weather stripping on my door was preventing the lock from aligning properly with the deadbolt hole. I had always had to lean slightly on my door to close the deadbolt (which was not a problem when manually locking the door). Without that pressure the lock was misaligned. | The solution was simple. I removed the existing weather stripping and replaced it with a thinner strip. The lock now aligns properly and works as advertised. So, if you get a “lock jammed” error report on your app, check the weather stripping.
